Picture Rundown

I have had a busy past week in the cookie world. I shipped to PA, AL and TX  and because of that I have gotten a little behind on posting pics.  Here are some of the orders from this past week!

I took this pic before I finished their mouths, oops!

CARS!

Lingerie Shower

Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse's  bow

Baby shower

Chevron and Polka dots

Monogram for a bridal shower.

I am slowly cutting down on the amount of cookie orders I take, and I am excited to have more time to share recipes, tutorials and fun stuff with you!

But for now, we are headed to swim and I am getting my hair done today. AHHHHHHHHH :).

Catch Up

I am catching up on some orders from the past couple of weeks. All of them are so different, but so fun!

Girls Night Out

These were for a fun girls night out. Sweet Meredith asked me to do these and I really wanted to stuff myself in the box and go with these cookies because I am pretty sure she and I could be good friends :).

Batman

These were for sweet Hudson who is having a Batman birthday party. I love doing anything superhero, and I think these colors are so fun together!

Diego and Boots

These were for another sweet Hudson who had a Diego jungle themed birthday. This was my first time to do Diego and Boots. I think boots is my favorite :).

Housewarming

I was asked to do these for a family who had just moved into a new house. I was so excited about using my house and key cutter for the first time. I thought they both turned out so cute, and the keys shipped and arrived in one piece!

WWE

When I was asked to do these I was excited because this was something different. I used the design of the traditional WWE and changed it to a "C" for the birthday boys initial. I also put his name on a wrestling ring. I also did a referee shirt because I know that the ref stands in the middle and raises the winners hand (?!? I had to do some research to do these, I have never watched WWE).
Happy Birthday Hudson!

Bubble Guppies
Lastly for the cookies I did more Bubble Guppies. I bet I turn down at least 3 orders a week of these. I guess they are hard to come by?!

And on a personal note, we have had a big month at our house. Taylor has been potty trained for one month! She has done so well, has only had one public accident, and stays dry during nap time and at night. I cannot believe this sweet girl will be 2 at the end of next month! We love you sweet T.

And little man, sigh. If you you follow me on Instagram and Twitter you have already seen this so I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist putting it on here. This boy knows how to steal your heart and steal it fast!

Have a great weekend!!!!

Bubble Guppies and Coupon Code

I hope everyone is having a great week! We have had a week full of fun, and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

I made some Bubble Guppie cookies for fellow blogger Jennifer a few months back, and ever since the Bubble Guppie orders have poured in! They are so fun to make, and I love to see that people enjoy them!

I won't lie, these are extremely time consuming. I snapped a couple of pictures to show you the process.

I bake the cookies the night before and ice them all blue. I let them dry overnight to make sure I have a solid, dry surface to work on the next day.
I use a template I printed off of the computer, and draw the basic outline of each character onto the cookies with an edible marker.

Next a take black icing (piping consistency) and use a #1 tip to outline each character. I have tried a #2 tip and the line just seemed too bulky in my opinion.

I then fill each cookie and let it dry for an hour before I add all of the finish details.
I wish I had taken a pic of the cookie before I added the final details, but basically the eyebrows, lashes, noses, accent marks etc.

The finished product!

I use edible markers for each characters mouth because the area is so small. This is the very last thing I do after the cookies have dried again overnight. You NEVER want to write on a cookie that has not dried overnight. It isn't pretty if you rush the process.

Keep the character orders coming!!!

On a totally different note, I will choose the winner for the Shabby Apple giveaway next week, but I am excited to offer ALL of my readers a 10% off coupon to use for an entire month!!!!
Use code thedoughmestichousewife10off.

I am also offering another way to enter in the giveaway. I have posted a tweet (@hollyhighthomas) on twitter about the 10% coupon. Reroute this tweet and comment on the Shabby Apple post to let me know you have done it!

Bubble Guppies

I have fun doing every cookie order that I do, but there is something really fun about doing something different and out of the ordinary. When Jennifer asked me to do some Bubble Guppie cookies for her daughter Braylen who was turning 2, I was so excited!!
Bubble Guppies are a regular around our house, so I had an idea from the very beginning of what I wanted to do. I decided to do the faces of all 9 characters on a round cookie.

*For all of the decorators out there, I iced my cookie solid blue and let it dry overnight to have a hard surface to pipe the faces onto. I used tips #1 and #2 to pipe the outline for the faces.

Jennifer also wanted to incorporate some Chevron and a cookie in the shape of a "2."

I thought the combination of the three of these cookies was perfect. I loved the theme, the colors, and the chevron!!!

This little guy ended up being my favorite. I guess it was the goggles :).
