Saturday Sweets

Its the weekend!!! We have had the best morning doing absolutely nothing and laying around in our pj's and Daddy is catching up on some much needed rest. I snapped this pic on Instagram this morning.

The sweetest! My heart could burst with how much I love these two!

My last out of town order for the week was a sweet monkey themed birthday set for sweet Finn.

The party colors are light blue and lime green, which look so good together. I also couldn't help but add the bow tie to the monkey!

Happy Birthday Finn!!!!

My first local order was for sweet Amy from Our Every Day Dinners. Her daughter had her birthday party at a local nail salon and her she picked a zebra and pink theme. When Amy sent me picture of the napkins and plates she told me they reminded her of a bachelorette party but it was her daughters choice so that's what they were using! I laughed so hard but assured her they would make some super cute cookies!

I have a definite obsession with buying cookie cutters, and this nail polish bottle was one of my random buys a long time ago. I have been dying to use it and I couldn't have been more excited when Amy told me where Kate's party was. I added some sanding sugar just for fun and sprayed the "lid" with Wilton silver metallic spray.

I did a square cookie to match the print on the napkin.

Some polka dot #9's.....

And a round zebra cookie with Kate's monogram (by request of the birthday girl).

Happy 9th Birthday Kate!!

My only other in town order for the week was for Paxton's first birthday.

The theme of his party was just different shades of blue. I LOVED this. Silvy (Paxton's mama)is so sweet and is one of those super easy customers who is easy to please. She basically told me to just used different shades of blue and different patterns.

I did polka dotted #1's

Round Tie Dye "Happy Birthday" cookies.

And square Chevron cookies with Paxton's name.

And of course a special cookie for big brother Parker.

Happy 1st Birthday Paxton!!!!!

Royal Love and More Monkeys

I started off this week shipping out two orders. The first order was for sweet Helen from Monograms and Manicures. She seriously may be one of the nicest people I know. She accomplishes more than I thought any one person could. She is always traveling, throwing a party, or doing something fun!
Helen asked me to do some Union Jack flags, and some gold rings with a sapphire for a Royal party she is having this weekend. I have done the rings before, but this was my first time to do a Union Jack.

I love trying things I have never done before so these were a fun challenge!

For all of the cookie decorators out there, I used Wilton gold spray for the gold on the rings. I LOVE their sprays. I have the gold, silver and pearl and they are great!

The second order I shipped was for a sweet twitter friend. She has twins that are turning one and she asked me to do some monkeys, ones, and bananas. To say that I was excited when she mentioned a banana is an understatement. This was my first time to do a banana also!

Her twins are boy/girl so I did some boy monkeys with the bow tie, and some girl monkeys with a bow and earrings.

And of course the bananas....

If only bananas tasted like an iced sugar cookie :).

I am slowing down the cookies for about a week so that I can concentrate on Parker's birthday and my sister's wedding. But I will be making cookies for both events, of course, so I will still be posting fun stuff! Parker is having a Super Mario party and I am so excited about doing these cookies :).

On another fun note, don't forget to enter the Elle and Ollie Giveaway! I will pick the winner tomorrow evening and announce it Saturday! So hurry and enter!!!

And speaking of Elle and Ollie, today is Kari Beth's birthday!!!!!!! So head on over to Living the High Life and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

More Cookies and Monterey Chicken

I am so grateful and humbled at all of the sweet texts, calls, emails and messages I have gotten from my post about Peyton. It is so amazing to me how Peyton has influenced so many lives in his short life. I am blessed to be his Mom! So, THANK YOU to everyone who responded :).

Back to some cookies :). I started off last week with a cute order for Alex's first birthday. His Mom sent me some pics of the party decorations and told me what she was thinking and we ended up with this cuteness:

She used a bunting, and cupcake toppers exactly like these so I thought it would be cute to match the cookie to the topper. These went to Brooklyn, NY and I wanted very badly to stick myself in the box and go with them! :)

I also did some more cute owls....

A baby shower.........

which included more Chevron....

and these flowers to match the invite.....

I ended the week with an "alien and eyeball" party. This stuff was so fun. I did these for a sweet friend who I have known for forever! My camera was MIA so these are iphone pics. Sorry :(.
(My hubby later found my camera in Parkers room. He was polishing up on his photography skills I guess.)

I did 3 dozen cupcakes with this order too, I am loving the nut cups that everyone is using!!!

Lastly, I love Pinterest and find a lot of my dinner recipes off of there. I saw a recipe for Monterey Chicken last week and needed something quick and easy so I tried it. Everyone loved it so I will definitely be making it again!

Monterey Chicken

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup bar-b-que sauce
1/4 cup real bacon bits
1 c. colby jack cheese, shredded
1 14 oz. can Rotel tomatoes, drained
(canned with green chiles added)
sliced green onions
pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pound out chicken breasts to flatten (I used presliced thin). Season with pepper. Grill chicken until no longer pink and place on a baking sheet covered with foil. Top each chicken breast with one Tbs bar-b-que sauce, 1/4 cup cheese, 1/4 c tomatoes, green onions and one Tbs of bacon bits. Place in oven and bake until cheese is melted (about 5 minutes).

*I used presliced chicken breasts, and I used more cheese than the recipe calls for. I omitted green onions because I have some picky eaters :).

Baby Shower and Birthday

Most of my orders were out of town orders last week, so I only had 24 cookies to do over the weekend and it was GREAT! The first set of cookies was for a friend from church who was hosting a baby shower. It was for a baby boy and jungle themed.

I only did 12 cookies so I stuck to the lion and the monkey, and an argyle monogram cookie in the same print as the napkin they used.

I really like these argyle cookies :).

Next set I did was a Hello Kitty set for sweet Ava's 2nd birthday. Ava's mom Cara and I were good friends all through school and I have TONS of good memories with her. I was so happy to do these for her.

I thought these were so sweet, and perfect for a 2 year old little girls birthday!

Lastly, I ship out my first out of town order in the morning for Jaxon who is turning 4! His mom wanted me to replace the S on the Superman symbol with a J and it turned out so cute!

I have another busy week coming up and more recipes to share! Its going to be a fun week!
